Since my husband's death almost a month ago. I did a lot of things that I thought would heal my heart fast. I moved to my home country in 2 weeks time and started putting the kids back to school. I went to church to ease my burden, but I didn't feel like it was the right time to talk to Him. You would see me laugh, but as soon as I stopped laughing, I would feel really sad right away.
For 6 years that my husband and I has been together, we never had dull moments. We liked being together and doing things together all the time. Our friends can prove how we love each other. And now that he's gone, I am still in denial. Tears want to run down my eyes but I try not to cry anymore. And it hurts!!! It hurts not to cry. I'd still tell myself that this is a dream....a very bad dream!

Failaka Island
My family and I went to a day tour in Failaka Island last week. It is a small island 20 km off the coast of mainland Kuwait. This island was destroyed and depopulated during the Iraqi invasion in 1991. So the pictures you'll see here are some houses and government buildings with bullet holes.

not ready for a pet dog yet....

I heard a barking dog the other night at around 9:30pm. The next day, while my hubby and I are drinking coffee and smoking at the hallway of our apartment building, we heard the barking of the dog again. My daughter and I went down at 6:30am (as usual) to wait for her school bus. My neighbor, who's waiting for her bus saw the puppy dog running around the parking lot. She said, "get the dog, get the dog!" I told her that I can't run on the parking lot without my ID (can't be walking around Kuwait without your civil ID with you). So she took it and gave it to me. The pup looks adorable....I just don't know what breed. Too bad, my hubby didn't want to keep the pup in our house. He said it'll stink up the house and might pee on the carpet. Plus, the pup looks like she's gonna be a big dog, so we can't keep her in the house. So my neighbor had to give the pup to her other friend. At least, this puppy has a home now.

cough and smoking

February....weather is nice right now in Kuwait. And I am just getting over with my cough and I'm back to smoking again. I tried to quit smoking a couple of times but I failed. I tried to make myself busy so I won't have time to smoke, but as soon as I drink a cup of coffee, I feel like it's not complete without cigarettes. I have this clay pot right outside my door so I wouldn't stink up the house when I smoke. And everytime I empty it, I always shake my head...."boy, I filled up the pot again!"

I want to do a lot of things at the same time
I've been busy lately....besides cooking for Christmas day, my son's 4th birthday and New Year's day, I've been trying to bake, bake and bake. I don't have pictures to show you yet, because most of my latest trials didn't come out so good except for my wholewheat loaf bread. I got a recipe for this wholewheat loaf bread from a magazine and it turned out good. I didn't have the chance to take a picture because I got so excited and after cutting the loaf, that I had to give slices to my hubby, daughter, and my neighbors so they could comment on that. My hubby said "Of course, your friends would say, "This is perfect!" because they're you're friends...." Ouch!!! It hurts but it's true.
2 weeks ago, I started painting on 2 canvases at the same time....I cut out 2-1/2X3-1/2 watercoulour cardboard so I could draw more and add more "stuff for sale" on my Etsy account.
Then, I looked for my 2-year old unfinished novel. I wanted to continue writing but everytime I opened my file, I would just stare at it and nothing....nothing happens....
Last week, I added 1....just 1 design for my Spreadshirt account. And that same week, I've been surfing for the latest job openings here in Kuwait.
Hmmm, confused??? I guess so....

Hope for everyone

On the way to the grocery store, I saw this beautiful sunrise on the seaside. I had to take a picture of that beautiful scene. It was a beautiful morning and a relaxing moment watching the sunrise.
If I were to write a poem about hope, I would compare it with sunrise. When everything in our life isn't doing well, and you feel like nobody's around to help you or even listen to you, if you feel helpless, for sure, you will see sunrise the next day....there is always hope. How about you? Have you ever observed the sunrise?

one of my first ACEO cards

I started painting acrylic on canvas last year. At the last quarter of this year, I read about ACEO and got interested with it. First of all, ACEO cards doesn't require too much time and it's easier to finish. When I started drawing, my 3 yrs. old son started drawing with me (but he was drawing on a big sheet of paper). It was fun! And I found an activity where I can get him started to hold pencils and crayons and draw like me and my eldest daughter who likes to draw animé.
